Today we traveled to the Free State. South Africa is split into provinces and districts. The provinces are like states to us, except there are nine provinces here. I have already been lucky enough to visit three here during my stay. It was about a seven hour trip to Bloemfontein where we are staying for the world cup. Our drive here was breathtaking. The landscape here is astonishing with mountains, bush, and aloe plants as common as our pine tree. We say the kudzu which is similar to our deer in American. We also saw baboons, monkeys, and antelope. So wild in front of my eyes and so beautiful.
Alrie and I chatted about the rich history of the S. African government and the past apartheid regime. I learned so much in one day, and it is so interesting I want to learn much more. Our drive to the free state included passing the remnants of the apartheid regime when the whites and black were segregated. It has only been since the mid 1990's they have been under democratic rule. I can go into much greater detail but it is late and I must get to bed. O yes and my luggage finally arrived today :)
P.s I visited the hospital today and I was quite impressed from a quick view it look pleasant
